The Half: Commanders vs Titans Week 5 Preview

For as trash as the Commanders have been, it’s not the worst Washington team I’ve seen. I don’t even have to go too far back to the last trash team this franchise had. Unfortunately, it was the last season as the Redskins. You know, the 2019 3-13 season that started with an 0-5 record and a head coach firing. Listen, the only thing that’s happening if the Commanders go 3-14 this season is a bunch of fans whining and complaining about the FO and Ron Rivera during the off-season.
Another week and my team is playing the team of someone who likes to troll me. So far, I’m 0-3 and I haven’t been able to talk any trash this season. My friend from Vegas, always gives me hell about the Redskins, Football Team, and the Commanders! Plus, he’s a freaking Titans fan. Nobody care’s about them BUMS!
They’ll be without a few players Sunday versus Washington. Including placing rookie WR Treylon Burks on injured reserve on Friday. However, King Henry still reigns in Tennessee. That's enough to beat Washington, even though the defense has stopped the run.
But I think they’ve stopped the run because teams don’t run enough. After all, it’s so easy to pass on them. According to the DVOA defensive rush rankings via The Football Outsiders, Washington is sixth. That’s fool’s gold because why run when you can throw on the 30th-ranked pass defense?
Unfortunately, I think the season is still salvageable. It all comes down to the offense. Carson Wentz has been Wentz. The skill players have performed well too. It’s coaching, tight end play, and offensive line that’s truly bogging the offense down. The offensive line has been so bad that I can’t even fairly critique the offense as a whole.
Until I see how the line plays, I can’t expect them to score. Once again, that’s going to tire out the defense. Y’all know how this goes. I wish I can pick the Commanders, especially since my guy is such a big fan of these BUMS, but unfortunately my team is bummier.
